Connect on LinkedInThere is a version of the technology executive story that is all transformation, all innovation, all vision. That is not my story — or rather, it is only part of it. For 25+ years, I have operated at the full breadth of the CIO mandate: running fast, predictable, compliant, and cost-efficient technology operations while simultaneously driving the commercial innovation and strategic transformation that creates durable business value.
As the technology leader for a $41B U.S. pharmaceutical commercial engine, I was personally accountable for the day-to-day performance of platforms that could not fail — wholesaler inventory planning, global pricing, payer contracts, chargebacks, government pricing, order management, and patient services. That meant managing 500+ FTEs across mission-critical systems, maintaining 100% audit success across SOX, HIPAA, GxP, and CMS, and providing executive leadership through operational disruption and crisis. Uptime and service delivery were not abstract commitments — they were personal ones.
In parallel, I led multiple large-scale ERP transformations spanning SAP, Salesforce, and Model N — building the enterprise architecture, shared services, and vendor governance that made the entire technology organization more predictable, more efficient, and more capable of absorbing change. I built a Global Business Services organization scaled to 800 FTEs, reducing delivery and operating costs by 40%+, and I defined deal model budgets and realized synergy targets across $180B+ in acquisitions.
The enterprise AI work — a board-endorsed program that realized $1.5B in recurring annual value — was built on that operational foundation. Sustainable AI at scale requires the data governance, process discipline, and organizational credibility that only comes from running operations well first. I led both: the $650M AI and R&D technology investment portfolio and the operations budgets for systems that the business depended on every single day.
I also served in a commercial business rotation as a Brand Marketer for an oncology portfolio — direct experience on the business side that gives me genuine fluency in how commercial strategy, customer relationships, and go-to-market models work. I am a technology leader with real business depth across the entire healthcare value chain, not just expertise in the IT function.
Career Journey
Leadership Philosophy
Credibility to lead transformation comes from operational excellence first. Organizations trust technology leaders who keep the lights on, manage costs, pass audits, and deliver predictable service — and then use that trust as the foundation for strategic change.
Every technology investment — from ERP to AI — should be traceable to a business outcome. I build governance frameworks that hold programs accountable from initiation through realization, ensuring technology serves strategy, not the other way around.
Well-designed platforms, shared service models, and data architectures generate efficiency and agility that accrue over years. Disciplined investment in the right foundation enables faster, cheaper, more reliable innovation downstream — and reduces the operational risk that accumulates from technical debt.
Generic technology leadership applied without deep healthcare domain knowledge produces generic results. The breakthroughs — and the operational resilience — come from leaders who understand pharmaceutical commercial operations, specialty distribution, payer contracting, and supply chain dynamics from the inside out.
